Hello All,

My Girlfriend and I will be staying at Las Terrazas De La Torre in July for 10 days - We're trying to decide whether hiring a car is recommended or essential and are hoping you could please help?

We were thinking of taking a taxi from the airport (San Javier) and have looked into taking bus / train trips to Murcia and Cartagena.

Do you know please what (if any) leisure park, shopping centre or sports facilities are open at Las Terrazas De La Torre, or are we destined to be commuting to La Torre, or Balsicas on a regular and expensive basis?

All tips and recommendations gratefully received.

Thanks,
Andy

There isn't anything open at Terrazas apart from the pools and kids playground. You could try to manage without a car but taxi's would be expensive. Car hire is fairly cheap & without it you would miss out on so much. For sporting facilities you'll need to go to La Torre or Roldan. If you are into watersports Mar Menor is a fantastic place to go.

The local restaurants & bars in Roldan / Balsicas are great and although I was sceptical about eating anywhere on an Industrial estate, the restaurants there are pretty good too. The ones on La Torre have a gorgeous setting by the lake, their prices reflect that but the atmosphere / service doesn't always compare to the local ones.

Murcia is a great place to visit, we like to park in El Corte Ingles and walk down towards the river through the old quarter. If you want shopping malls there's quite a few on the A7 towards Murcia Ikea or closer to TLT there's Dos Mares inbetween San Pedro & San Javier.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your reply Laurel.

Do you know please is the supermarket at LTLT open and what would the typical taxi fare be from LTLT to LT, or MM?

Many thanks
