Hi
Just new to forum and and not due to complete in Condado until Spring 09 (or thereabouts) but need to sign up a Solicitor or Lawyer to proceed with the sale. Can anyone let me know if it is best to use a Spanish or UK Solicitor and is a 1% fee the norm? Also looking for any advise on setting up a mortgage, Spanish or UK?? and do you need to open a Spanish Bank Account?
Thanks
Sandra

sandra
check out mine and other posts in the spanish bank accounts(leonarca)
there is some sound advice there, my mortgage and bank acc were very easy to do,
i also completed without the use of a solicitor, saved me 1900 euro,
there is a sponsor from the bank, polaris and the notary when you sign,
a young lady from polaris translated everything for us before we signed. (takes a while mind)

Hi Sandra,

I used this solicitor who was recommended to me, I am about to complete week after next. They do a lot via email, and also Tania who works there is English so no trouble with the language barrier. Cost was 700 Euros. They checked over my contract at first, they will also be with me when I sign to complete. Hope this helps!! Carla

We completed on Jardin 2 on Tuesday, just got back. We were in the notary office for 3 hours too, waiting for a bank official to come to cancel the mortgage the builders had on my one. Phew, glad its all over now & we have the keys. Roll on the hot weather so we can start enjoying it!!

Happy holidays!!!

Hi, yes I told then we would be there on Friday to take delivery of the furniture, electricals and pay the air con feller. As I said the water went on but no Electric we thought it would at least be on by the time we went back on Sunday but no. We did call in to the office and they said it would be on today, we are going back this Sunday to put the lights up (thats if he does not forget to take his electric drill lol!!!).

Jardine 4 is looking really great and so green (sorry we dont see much green grass over here) it was like a ghost town and so quiet on Sunday. If there is anything we can do to help just give us a shout! Now going to put it up for rent on here now!

Scouser now the dream begins!!! :D

S**t i bet you was freezing!

I will email them & get our keyholder to check it has been switched on, or the mrs will have a fit!

Can't wait to get out there now, went in October and was well impressed, just hope in the summer months it a bit more lively.
